W.G. Henshaw Tyler and a number of Brethren duly assembled the Lodge was opened on the EA degree the minutes of the last meeting was read and approved. The Standing Committee reported favorable of Mr. John Rogers and the Lodge proceeded to ballot for Him and the balls being in favor of the candidate he was brought forward with Mr. St. Johns who had been previously balloted for and received the degree of E Apprentice.
Brother Worshipful George Arnold proposed Mr. Thomas Foster as a Candidate for thee mystery of Masonry and on motion he was referred to the standing Committee. Br, George proposed Mr. Henry Avery as a candidate for the Mystery of Masonry and on Motion he was referred to the Standing Committee. The Lodge closed in the E A degree and that of Fellow Craft opened. The candidates was prepared brought forward and received the degree of Fw Ct. The Worshipful Master appointed the Rev. Br, Wilson as Chaplin for the present year. On motion of Br. Waydell and seconded by Br. Yates that our late W P Master Br. Allen be presented with a piece of plate to the value of thirty dollars what motion was and a Committee was appointed to carry the same into effect. The Committee was composed of Br. Waydell, Yates and Harrison. And (Two lines crossed out; Br, Hardy appeared, satisfied the Lodge of his Innocence and on motion he was taken in full membership which ((3 words obliterated))). A bill for refreshments was received from Br. Harrison amounting to twenty two dollars which bill was passed for payment on motion. Made and carried that the Chairman of the Charity Committee be (illegible) to receive twenty dollars for charitable purposes. A communication was received from Widow Dunning and on motion she was referred to the Charity Committee
with discretionary powers.

Henshaw Tyler and a number of Brethren duly assembled the Lodge was opened on the EA degree the minutes of the last meeting was read and approved a communication was received from Widow Williams asking for relief being in great Distress and she was referred to the Charity Committee. A report was made by the standing committee in favor of Mr. Thomas Foster and Mr. Henry Avery proposed for the Mystery of Masonry. The Lodge proceeded to ballot for them, the balls were all white in favor of the candidate(s) admission. On motion of Br. Waydell and second by More that P.M. Br. Harding name be put on the list of Members which motion was carried. A silver sugar bowl and cream pot was received and presented to P M Br. Allen in testimony of their Respect for his services as W Master of Mariners Lodge. A bill of 30 dollars was presented and passed for payment for the sugar bowl and cream potthat was presented to PM Br. Allen. Nothing further offering, the Lodge closed in harmony.

The Standing Committee of Mariners Lodge No. 385 beg leave to report that they have examined the Books of the Secretary and treasurer and have found a balance in the Hands of the Treasurer of Ninety four dollars ninety five cents the Committee also report that in the Old Savings Bank the sum of Two Hundred Dollars. The Chairman of the Charity Committee by leave to report that he has received 20 dollars & paid out for charitable purpose ten dollars leaving a balance in hand of ten dollars.

W.G. Henshaw Tyler. The minutes of the last Regular and Extra meetings were read and approved as also the reports of Charity and Standing Committees on the state of the funds. A report was received from the Committee of the Grand Lodge appointed to examine the Secretary’s books and read and on Motion resolved that the report be entered on the minutes. The EA Lodge was closed and at the same time that of Fellow Craft opened when Br. Foster was brought forth duly prepared and raised to the Sublime Degree of MM the SC report favorable of Mr. William Coger and on motion it was resolved that the report be accepted and the candidate being balloted for the balls were unanimous in favor of his admission . On motion made it was resolved that the Lodge proceeded to ballot for Sam Muveh (?) in accordance with the wishes of the G Secretary and the balls were unanimities in favor of his admission. And W.G. Henshaw Tyler and a number of Brethren duly assembled the Lodge was opened on the EA degree the minutes of the last meeting was read and approved. Mr. Henry C. Avery being in waiting was duly prepared brought forward and received the EA degree. Br, John Harrison proposed Br. Richard Turner formerly of Independent Royal Arch as an Adjoining member of Mariners Lodge and paid the joining fee and on motion he was referred to the Standing Committee for Investigation. On Motion made and seconded it was resolved that this Lodge continues to meet in lodge room at Union Hall at fifty dollars per year rent for one year from the first of may next . A Committee of Masons was received different Lodges to confer with Mariners Lodge to take into consideration the propriety of getting up a Masonic Ball the proceeds of which to be appropriated for the relief of Distressed Master Masons their Widows and Orphans and on motion made and seconded WP Master Br. Waydell was appointed for that purpose. A Committee was received from Trinity Lodge respecting Br. Parker being balloted for and not joining Trinity Lodge and the Committee was appointed to inquire it and on motion for William Yates to be that Committee. Nothing further, the Lodge closed in Harmony.

The Standing Committee reported favorably on Br, Richard Turner and a motion made the Lodge proceeded to ballot for him the balls were all white in favor of the Candidate admission as a adjoining member. A petitions (sic) for charity was presented from the Widows Cheeseman & Skillman and Br. Luther Pratt (author of “The Defense of Freemasonry bought by the Lodge in1829) and on motion they were severally referred to the Charity Committee. Mariners Lodge was visited by the Grand Visiting Committee of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York. The Grand Secretary took the chair and after giving some instructions the minutes of this meeting was (sic) read and approved. Br. Martin paid his dues amounting to one dollar. Nothing further offering, the Lodge closed in harmony.

John Derves from Royal Jubilee Lodge 100 London and on motion he was referred to the Charity committee. The Charity Committee reports that they was (sic) out of funds and on motion made and seconded that they be supplied and thirty dollars was appropriated for that purpose. On motion made and seconded it was resolved that those Members that was (sic) in arrears for two years dues that they be returned suspended the minutes of this meeting were read and approved. A dispensation was received from the g Master of the grand lodge of the State of New York authorizing Mariners Lodge to receive Captain Tobius Thompson and confer on him the three fist degrees of Masonry which dispensation was read and passed by the body and as the candidate being in waiting was duly prepared, brought forward and received the degree of EA. The Lodge closed in the EA degree and that of F Craft opened. Br. Thompson was prepared, brought forward and received the degree of F Craft. On motion of Br. Harrison Mr. Wm Coger name be struck from our minutes as a candidate for masonry which motion was carried and his proposition fee be returned to him. The Lodge closed in the F Craft degree and that of M Mason opened and Br. Thompson was brought forward and received the Sublime degree of M Mason. On motion made and seconded resolved that Mariners Lodge pay the G Lodge for one year’s dues amounting to twenty six dollars which motion was carried. On motion made and seconded resolved that the Widow Thatcher be referred to the Charity Committee for assistance, which carried. Br. Harrison proposed Br. Tobias Thompson as an adjoining member of Mariners Lodge and on motion was referred to the Standing Committee. On motion made and seconded that Br. Barneys dues to Mariners Lodge remitted to him from the date of the last election which motion was carried. Nothing further offering the minutes of this meeting was read and approved and the Lodge closed in harmony.

John Ernst Peaschel requesting Mariners Lodge to assist him in obtaining passage money to go to Europe and he was on Motion resolved referred to the Charity Committee. Br. John S. Dale late of St. Johns Lodge of North Shields presented himself and requested Mariners Lodge to assist him as he was in distress and on a motion made he was referred to the Charity Committee. Harrison proposed Mr. Alfred Powell by profession Mariner about 24 years of age residence N. York as a candidate for the Mysteries of Masonry and on the Motion made and seconded was referred to the SC for the usual investigation. Br. George proposed Mr. Thomas Wright by profession a Mariner about 25 years of age residence N York as a candidate for the Mysteries of Masonry and on motion made and second he was refered to the SC for the usual investigation. WPM Br. Harding proposed Br. E. Stibbens formerly of Menemera Lodge as a joining member of Mariners Lodge and on motion made and second he was referred to the SC. WPM Br. Harding communicated to the Lodge the death of Br. George Rollins who died of the Cholera in New Orleans on the 29 of May 1833 and a motion made and second resolved that the Lodge go into mourning for our deceased Brother. The S. Committee reported favorably on Br. Vanderbilt as a joining member of Mariners Lodge and the Lodge proceeded to ballot for him and he was fully accepted. Br. Reeves paid three dollars dues and Br. And W.G. Henshaw Tyler and a number of Brethren duly assembled the Lodge was opened on the EA degree the minutes of the last meeting was read. The Lodge closed in the EA degree and opened in the FC. Br. Wright being in waiting was duly prepared brought forward and received the degree of FC. The SC reported favorably of Mr. Alfred Powell and on motion made and second that the Lodge proceed to ballot for him and the balls being all white he was unanimously accepted. Br. George proposed Mr. Aaron G. Higgins for a candidate for the Mysteries of Masonry and on a motion made and second was referred to the Standing Committee. Br. George resigned the Secretary’s chair of Mariners Lodge and on motion made and second that his resignation be accepted which motion was carried and WPM Br. Allen appointed in his stead. On motion made and second resolved that the Standing Committee have power to furnish six candle sticks and any number of candles that may be wanted for the use of mariners Lodge. Br. Denney presented himself and paid two dollars dues and the rest of his dues was remitted to him up to the last election and he was reinstated in the Lodge. Br. Miner paid three dollars. Br. Murch paid his dues amounting to two dollars fifty cents. Nothing further offering the minutes of this meeting was read and approved and the Lodge closed in Harmony.

And a number of Brethren duly convened the Lodge was opened on the EA degree in due form- the minutes of the last meeting and extra meeting were read and passed as correct- A bill for rent of Lodge room first inst. amounting to 12.50/100 levy was read and passed for payment- H. Young Co. & Sawyer & Pryor’s bill for candles and candlesticks amounting 27.44 levy were read and passed for payment. Br. Waydell represented that he together with Br. Hemingway Having fallen in with a most distressed Br. Mason had taken the liberty as Charity Committee to grant him a donation of 3.39/1000 Duly on motion was resolved that the Lodge conform the donation. The SC of M Lodge report (they have made inquiry in to the character of-crossed out) then (illeg) Mr. Aaron G Higgins for the Mysteries of Masonry. On motion it was resolved that the report be accepted and the candidate being balloted for. The balls were regularly distributed and when collected were found to be unanimous in favor of his admission. Nothing further offering Lodge was closed in harmony.

Harding held in trust for Mariners Lodge making a fund of Three hundred and Twenty three Dollars not including interest due on the deposit in savings bank- The committee also reports that there is in the hands of Br. WPM Br. Moore proposed as an adjoining member to the Lodge Br. Leonard Smith late of Franklin Lodge No. 380, on motion was resolved that his name be entered on the minutes and hand to the SC for the usual investigation- On motion made by WPM Br. Harding and seconded by WPM Br. Waydell it was resolved that WPM Br. Moore act as SW up to the next election in place of Br. Chapman who has left the city. Nothing further offering, after reading the minutes the Lodge closed in harmony.

The minutes of the last meeting was read-
The SC report favorably report of Br. L. Smith proposed as an adjoining member at our last meeting and on motion to was resolved that the report be accepted and the candidate balloted for . On ballot resulted in the unanimous admission of Br. Smith. The report of the Standing Committee on the state of the Lodge funds was read and duly accepted-Nothing further offering after reading the minutes the Lodge closed in Harmony.

The Lodge was duly opened in the EA degree-
The minutes of the last meeting was read- The Standing Committee report favorably on Br. E. Stebbins proposed 26 June as an adjoining member and of Mr. Jn. W. Murry for initiation. On motion it was resolved that the report be accepted and the candidates balloted for; they were severally balloted for and the ballots were unanimous in favor of this admission.
Br. W G Henshaw bill for tyling from 5th June to this date inclusive was read and passed for payment if found correct-amount $19- On motion it was resolved that a Committee of two be appointed to wait on Br. Barney and inform him unless he redeems his watch on or before our next election, that it will be sold to the best advantage and the proceeds applied to the payment of a loan granted him some time since. WM appointed to this Committee Brs. Harrison and Yates. On motion it was resolved that Twenty Dollars be handed to the Chairman of the Charity Committee for charitable purposes. Nothing further offering, after the minutes were read the Lodge closed in Harmony.

The minutes of the last meeting was read- A bill for rent of Lodge room to 1st July inst. amounting to 12.50/100 dolls. Was read and passed for payment. EA Lodge was closed and (crossed out: in conjunction with Montgomery Lodge No. was opened in the) Master Mason opened in due form. When Br. A Powell was brought forward duly prepared and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason-Br. Harrison proposed for initiation Mr. John F. Anderson profession butcher. On motion it was resolved that his name be entered in the minutes and handed to the Standing Committee for the usual investigation. Nothing further offering after reading the minutes the Lodge closed in Harmony.

The standing Committee reported favorably of Mr. John F. Anderson for Initiation. On motion it was resolved that the excepted and candidate balloted for the ballot was unanimous for the admission of the candidate. Br. Arnold proposed Mr. Wm. Hammond of Salem Mastts. Aged 40 years for initiation. On motion resolved that his name be entered on the minutes and handed to the Standing Committee for the usual investigation. the minutes of the last meeting was read.
The Standing Committee reported favorably of Mr. John F Hammond for initiation. On motion it resolved that the report be accepted and the candidate balloted for. The ballot resulted unanimously in favor od the candidates admission. Br, Harrison proposed Mr. John P. Jones profession Shipwright late of Columbia (crossed out; Mechanics) Lodge 392 (don’t know if # is correct) as an adjoining member of this Lodge. On motion it was resolved that his name be entered in the minutes and handed to the SC for the usual investigation.
On motion of Br. Waydell seconded by Br. West that the refreshments be prepared for this Lodge at our next regular night of meeting being the night of election-on motion was further resolved that a Committee of three be appointed to procure the refreshments and that a sum, not exceeding fifty dollars be appropriated for thee purpose-

The minutes of the last meeting was read-
Mr. Jn. F Anderson who was proposed 13 Nov last being in waiting was brought forward duly prepared and received the entered apprentice degree in due form-
A petition for charity from Catherine L. Johnson, widow of the late Br. Leon Johnson, late of Kingston loge No. 20 was read, and on motion it was resolved that the petition be referred to the Charity committee.
The Standing Committee reported favorably of Br. JP Jones as a adjoining member. On motion it was resolved that the report be accepted and the candidate balloted for, the ballot was unanimous of his admission-EA Lodge was closed, and that of MM opened in due form, when the Lodge went into election-Br. George Arnold was duly elected Worshipful master for the ensuing year. Br. Jesse West was duly elected S Warden and br. A. McLean was duly voted J Warden- on motion is was resolved that when there is no opposition the question be taken by a show of hands-
Br. Jn. Waydell Jn George and Geo. Greig (?) were put in nomination for Senior Deacon the ballot went as follows for Waydell 10 votes for George 7 for greig 3. Br. Waydell was therefore declared duly elected. Br. Greig was then put in nomination and unanimously (crossed out appointed ) elected Junior. Deacon. Br. Jos. Allen was duly elected Secretary and Br. Jn. Harrison was again elected Treasurer.
When the following brethren were severally and respectively put in nomination and were duly (Crossed out approved) elected to the subordinate offices for the ensuing year Secy John George and Stephen Plane Masters of Ceremonies , for Stewards Edward Hall & A Powell, for Standing Committee J Moore Jr., Jn Waydell, & (crossed out J West) Jn. George.
For Charity Committee J Waydell J Moore Jr. & J West. For tyler W G Henshaw. MM Lodge was closed and at the same time that of EA opened for the further dispatch of business for the evening. At 9 O clock the lodge was called from Labor to refreshment for a short space of time. Previous to changing the Lodge from MM to EA the officers elect were installed into their respective offices- At ? past 11 the Lodge was called from refreshment to Labor. And after reading the minutes the Lodge was closed in harmony
